Arsenal want to sign Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr with move approved âat all levelsâ

Arsenal are exploring a potential move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr as they continue to strengthen their squad following their Premier League title triumph.
The Gunners are expected to be active in the transfer market after ending a 22-year wait for the league title and have already completed the signing of Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. However, the club are also considering a far more ambitious move for Brazil international Vinicius if he does not agree a new contract with Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old has 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Santiago Bernabéu, with contract negotiations yet to produce a breakthrough. According to The Athletic, there have been no direct talks between Arsenal and Real Madrid, but the possibility of pursuing Vinicius has been “approved at all levels” within the north London club.
Vinicius joined Real Madrid from Flamengo after turning 18 in 2018 and has since established himself as one of world football’s leading attackers. He has made 375 appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring 128 goals and providing 100 assists across all competitions.
The Brazil international also impressed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring four goals during the tournament. Vinicius is one of several attacking players Arsenal are monitoring this summer, with Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez also regarded as a long-term target.
Reports suggest Atlético are reluctant to sell Álvarez but would be more open to negotiating with Arsenal than rivals Barcelona following the Catalan club’s public interest in the striker. The Gunners are also admirers of Bournemouth forward Junior Kroupi as they assess options to strengthen their attack.
In midfield, Arsenal remain interested in Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimarães and are reportedly preparing a £70 million bid for the Brazil international. While Guimarães is said to be open to a move to north London, Newcastle are understood to have no intention of selling the midfielder this summer.
